When I learned how to drive, I wasn't really scared. It was probably because I played too many racing video games in arcades as a child. I always "Need for speed" or other racing games that definitely weren't the best driving instructors. The main lessons learned after every game were: top speed and drift. For anyone that hasn't taken drivers training, I would not recommend getting tutored by a video game.

Darius, this is very funny because I too would enjoyed driving video games when I was young. The game I recommend to you is Grand Theft Auto, its a little violent. But thats not the point. Growing up I loved driving around in that game. It was so much fun because it felt so real. I also believe that driving in video games mentally prepared me for what was to come. Of course it wasn't the real deal but it was as close as it could get. Now I am 17 and driving seems not that fun anymore. I really liked how you made this connection. Outside forces were definitely needed as well to learn to drive and to get the hang of it! Hope you are an expert at driving!

Darius, I find myself to be the complete opposite. When I first learned to drive I was extremely nervous and scared. When I was younger I thought if I played driving games, I would be prepared for drivers ed. That wasn't the case at all. Ever since I began driving, I realized driving on video games is nothing like real life. Especially on games like, Grand Theft Auto. I mostly drove on sidewalks and through people's backyard. So those games were no help at all. Although I started out nervous , I ended up doing well throughout drivers ed, and I passed my test!

Darius, I would have to agree with Matt on this one! GTA is a great way to learn. Although he's right about the violence part. Having played many racing games growing up like you explained you did, I can see where you're coming from on how it wasn't that hard in real life! I was a little nervous during segment one of drivers training, but by the end of that course, I was very calm behind the wheel. I too, like Kendall, wasn't a very productive driver in Grand Theft Auto, but ended up doing perfectly fine on my drivers test and passed!
